Orion Corporation
The Orion Corporation is the largest political faction in the Milky Way Galaxy.
Named for the Milky Way Galaxy’s Orion-Cygnus Arm, where it was founded (itself named after the Orion Constellation), the territory controlled by the Orion Corporation stretches far beyond the minor spiral arm it calls home, with millions of planets bowing to its governance, law, and military might. For nearly five thousand years, the Orion Corporation has been the prime commanding force over the greater Perseus Arm of the galaxy and its many spurs; the Orion Arm is but one of them, but remains its political centre.
The Orion Corporation’s capital is New Triton, which also has the distinction of being both the richest and most populous planet in the galaxy. It is the corporation’s principal seat of power, and is the official home of its director, Cassiopeia.
With New Triton at its beating heart, the Orion Corporation was founded by a collective of alien species bound by a common mission: to unite and bring peace to the galaxy, whatever the cost. Many a tyrant king or queen has fallen before the diplomacy, to be replaced by a puppet whose strings they can pull.
Its flag – famous and notorious across the galaxy – is blue, and depicts the Three Sisters, also known as Orion’s Belt.
With the looming threat of Blackhole’s return, the Orion Corporation today is caught in the grip of two ancient religious factions: the Order of the Galactic Halo, who seek to spare the universe by restoring its creator-god, Galaxy; and the Order of the Event Horizon, who wish to aid Blackhole in his complete destruction of the universe, and gain their place in his prophesied new world order. Representatives of both orders have infiltrated the corporation at every level, with each side hoping to exert their influence on galactic politics.
