Darkspire

Darkspire was once a planet in the Milky Way Galaxy, before its destruction at the maw of Blackhole.

As the home of the shadowdrifter species – a once numerous race of winged, supernatural humanoids which feed on the life essence of lesser sentient beings – great power and influence were concentrated there, with many smaller, weaker planets subjugated under the dominion of Darkspire’s almighty control. All shadowdrifters naturally covet power, and so Darkspire’s long story was one of much manipulation, betrayal, and blood, with which its waterways were said to run red.

Darkspire was recently destroyed by Blackhole. Many shadowdrifters fled in the days and weeks prior, but many stayed behind, too caught up in their own schemes to prioritise their survival. Great numbers of shadowdrifters were wiped out along with their planet. Those remaining now wander the galaxy, seeking new worlds to subjugate, and settling into positions of power wherever they find them.
