Hocopoco is a planet in the Milky Way Galaxy.

It is known primarily as the home of the rabika – a race of magical lapines – though, today, Hocopoco is one of the most diverse planets in the galaxy. It’s also the galaxy’s only planet which is completely artificial, having been constructed from scratch using the combined magical prowess of thousands of rabika sorceresses, following the fall of their home planet, Pareidolia. It’s famous for its distinctive shape, which gives it the appearance of a four-sided die.

It is a strange and magical world, where the seas and skies are a clear, milk white by day and an inky, jet black by night. The earth is a lustrous crimson, fertile and rich in minerals, except at the poles, which are covered in icy black sheets. Magic crystals power vital infrastructure, meanwhile fantastic beasts roam free, flaunting their many magnificent colours or changing form on a whim.

So great were the early rabika minds, Hocopoco became known as the preeminent planet in all the Milky Way Galaxy for both magical learning and scientific research. It’s intergalactically renowned for its universities – four of which rank in the top ten galaxy-wide – including the Hocopoco Institute, the number one university for magic and arcanery in the entire galaxy. Hocopoco is a beacon for the galaxy’s greatest minds, whether they come to learn, or contribute knowledge and research for the good of mortalkind.

The planet has four moons: Solitude (the spade), Desuetude (the club), Fortitude (the heart), and Gratitude (the diamond). Each one plays an important role in Hocopoco culture, for they each represent something to the rabika that live there. The black moons (Solitude and Desuetude) represent their past, whilst the red moons (Fortitude and Gratitude) represent their future. These moons also counteract the forces of gravity to an extent, enabling Hocopoco to maintain its famous ‘spherocube’ shape.

It shares a star system – Arcana – with its sister planet Monochromia, home of the hopwrockles.
