Hey Kinoko fans!

Today, we’re pleased to announce the soft-launch of the brand-new Cult of Galaxy Shop – the only place where you can get your hands on official Kinoko and the Cult of Galaxy merchandise. Our first batch of stickers are in and available for purchase, and we ship to nearly every part of the world!

Merchandise – even something as simple as stickers, for now – is something we’ve wanted to introduce for a while now, so we’re happy to finally have a shop up and running. It’s powered by the ever-popular Shopify platform, so you’ll get the benefit of Shopify’s tried-and-trusted ecommerce experience and reputable payments processing, but production and stock are managed by us, so you can be assured that nearly 100% of profits (after transaction fees) go directly back into the project.

We hope to expand our selection of stickers very soon, but our first sticker – which you can buy right now – features Kinoko and his starsprite companions soaring through the air, leaving a rainbow trail. It’s holographic with a starry effect which shines under the light, so it’s a must-have for any Kinoko fans or sticker collectors!

Buying our stickers is a great way of supporting our project and helping us grow the development fund for the game, so we can continue to buy assets like sound effects as we need them as well as pay for services like music composing, animation, and – perhaps further down the line – maybe even voice acting. Hopefully you’ll agree that buying official merchandise from our store is a great way of helping us out whilst getting something back in return.

The shop is something we’re basically trialling at the moment. Posting stuff internationally is quite new to us, but we managed to navigate our way through the sticker giveaway we ran on Twitter last week and no one died, so we’re excited to begin shipping out sold stickers too! We already celebrated our first sale on Saturday night and we got another one today, so we’re already well on the way to recouping the money we spent to get the stickers in the first place – once we’ve covered our costs, everything else will be pure profit that we can add to the game’s development fund!

We’ll definitely be adding more stickers to the selection in the near future, and we might possibly experiment with other similarly-sized merchandise like keychains, charms, and art prints too. As we’re not using a print-on-demand service here like Redbubble or Fourthwall – but instead ordering all the stock ourselves and storing it in our house – we don’t have all the space in the world to dedicate to our shop at the moment, but we’ll see how things go! Having to repurpose the sheds at the end of our property into stock storage would be a nice problem to have – I always hated gardening anyway. If you have any suggestions, we’d love to hear them.

Anyway, that’s all we really needed to say about that. We hope you’ll take a moment to check out our shop and maybe consider buying one of the stickers. For the time being, every sticker we sell is being sent with a handwritten thank-you note from the pair of us, as well as a unique, hand-drawn doodle by Chelsey. Once we’ve sold enough stickers to justify sourcing a second set, we’ll definitely be doing just that, so you can expect the range of stickers to grow soon. Watch this space!
